Stories in Motion: Rights Violations at the Franco-Italian Border

Stories in Motion is a collective research project focused on the Menton-Ventimiglia border between France and Italy, examining illegal activities and human rights violations in this border zone, specifically minors’ documents falsification, illegal pushback practices, suspension of fundamental rights, access to healthcare and mental health support, the consequences of border militarization, and the criminalization of border solidarity.

Notably, it found police falsifying unaccompanied minors’ documents, which is illegal under French, European Union, and international law. More information can be found on the project’s website.
